Terms
These terms cover the hosted service at simhook.dev. The software itself is open source under the AGPL-3.0, and running your own copy is governed by that license, not by this page. Last updated 5 September 2026.
The service
simhook queues text messages and relays them to and from an Android phone you own, through a SIM you control. We run the server; you run the phone. The phone’s carrier plan does the actual sending and receiving, and its terms apply to what you send.
Your responsibilities
- You must own or have the right to use the phone and the SIM you pair.
- You are responsible for every message sent through your account: its content, its recipients, and its legality. Unsolicited marketing, fraud, harassment, impersonation, and anything else against the law where you or your recipients are, is not allowed and gets an account closed.
- Honour opt-outs. When someone asks you to stop, stop.
- Keep your API keys and webhook secrets to yourself. Anything done with them is done by you.
Plans and limits
The Free plan and any paid plan have the limits shown on the pricing page. We may change plans and prices; paid changes are announced ahead of time and never applied to a period you have already paid for.
What we promise, and what we do not
We work to keep the service up and to keep your data safe, and we tell you when something goes wrong. But the service depends on your phone, its carrier, and networks we do not control, and it is provided as is, without a warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, our liability for anything arising from the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the problem.
Ending things
You can delete your account at any time by writing to [email protected]; everything about it is deleted within a week. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that is being used to harm others, and we will say why unless the law prevents it.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email to the address on the account at least 14 days before they apply.
